Day 1: Arrival in Kochi

Upon arriving at Cochin Airport, an Alkof Holidays representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After you settle in and relax, head out for a local sightseeing tour of Kochi. Visit Fort Kochi, Marine Drive, St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace, Santa Cruz Basilica, Bolgatty Island, and the Indo-Portuguese Museum. Return to the hotel for the night.

Honeymoon Special: Enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner with flower decor and a cake.

Day 2: At Kochi (Visit Athirappilly and Vazhachal Waterfalls)

After breakfast at the hotel, set out to explore the stunning Athirappilly and Vazhachal Waterfalls. These majestic falls, cascading from a height of 80 feet, create a soothing natural symphony as they tumble through lush gorges. The sight of the water's white spray against the backdrop of verdant greenery is truly enchanting. Enjoy the beauty of the falls, take some memorable photos, and then drive back to Kochi. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Cochin - Munnar (130 kms/4 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Munnar, known as the scenic hill station of Kerala. En route, visit the Kodanad Elephant Care Centre and enjoy views of beautiful waterfalls and other natural scenic spots. Upon arrival in Munnar, check in at your hotel and relax for the night.

Day 4: Exploring Munnar

Spend the day discovering the enchanting landscapes of Munnar, nestled in the Western Ghats at the confluence of Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundale streams. Renowned for its tea plantations and stunning natural beauty, Munnar was a favored summer retreat for the British government. Begin with a visit to Mattupetty Dam, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the reservoir. Next, explore Kundale Lake, known for its serene environment and picturesque surroundings. Stop by Echo Point to experience the natural echo phenomenon and admire the surrounding vistas. Head to Rajamalai (Eravikulam National Park), home to the endangered Nilgiri Thar mountain goats. Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Munnar - Thekkady/Periyar (100 kms/3.5 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Thekkady, home to the renowned Periyar National Park. Upon arrival, check in at your resort and take some time to relax. Later, embark on a sightseeing tour of Periyar National Park, also known as Periyar Tiger Reserve. Nestled in the Western Ghats, this lush evergreen forest was designated a Tiger Reserve in 1978. The park is famous for its diverse wildlife, including tigers, elephants, lion-tailed macaques, sambar deer, leopards, and Indian bison. It remains open during the monsoon season, offering various activities like boating on Periyar Lake and elephant rides at an additional cost. Also, visit the spice plantations in Kumily, a picturesque town near Thekkady. Return to the resort for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Thekkady - Kumarakom (130 kms/3.5 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the resort, drive to Kumarakom, known as the "Town of Backwaters." Upon arrival, check in at your resort and take some time to relax. Later, explore Kumarakom, a charming backwater village located on the western banks of Vembanadu Lake. Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, a haven for migratory birds, and enjoy the serene Kumarakom Beach and Backwaters. You can also explore the Bay Island Driftwood Museum. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 7: Kumarakom - Alappuzha (35 kms/1 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the resort, drive to Alappuzha (also known as Alleppey), renowned for its scenic backwater cruises. Upon arrival, board a traditionally decorated houseboat for an enchanting overnight cruise. Check-in is at 1:00 PM, and the cruise begins with a lunch onboard. As you glide through the tranquil canals and lagoons, take in the picturesque views of Chinese fishing nets, lush paddy fields, local coir production, rustic homes, ancient temples, and swaying coconut groves. In the evening, you have time to explore the local market in Alappuzha. Enjoy a peaceful overnight stay aboard the houseboat.

Day 8: Alappuzha - Kochi (55 kms/1.5 hrs drive) & Departure

After breakfast on the houseboat, you'll be transferred by Alkof Holidays' representative to Cochin Airport. From there, board your flight to your home or onward destination.
