Day 1: Arrival in Kolkata

Upon your arrival at Kolkata airport, you will be warmly greeted by an Alkof Holidays representative, who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the city at your own pace. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel, preparing for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Kolkata - Godkhali (90 kms/3 hrs drive) - Sundarbans (By Ferry)

After breakfast at your hotel, begin your journey towards Godkhali Ferry Ghat, a 3-hour drive through the beautiful countryside. Along the way, enjoy scenic stops at rural bazaars, local tea shops, and visit traditional fishermen's villages, offering a glimpse into the daily life of the local communities. Upon arrival at Godkhali, you'll be greeted by a naturalist who will accompany you on a 3-day escorted tour of the Sundarbans National Park.

Board a ferry and embark on a two-hour journey through the stunning rivers of Hogol, Gomor, Durgaduani, and Gumdi, surrounded by lush mangrove forests. You can also make a stop at Gosaba, one of the first human settlements in the Sundarbans, to visit the historic house of Sir Daniel Hamilton, a Scottish banker who pioneered India's first cooperative movement.

Upon reaching Jharkhali Island, an isolated gem nestled in the lap of the Sundarbans, check in to your resort. After some time to relax, head out for a 3-hour birding and game cruise to Sudhanyakhali Watchtower, where you can explore the mangrove-lined creeks and canals. Return to your resort for an overnight stay, surrounded by the wilderness of this incredible region.

Day 3: Exploring Sundarban National Park

After breakfast at the resort, prepare for an unforgettable forest boat safari, one of the most adventurous and unique wildlife experiences in India. Cruise through the winding rivers of Hogol, Gomor, Durgaduani, Bidya, and Gumdi, where you'll be surrounded by towering mangrove trees, and have the chance to spot sun-basking crocodiles, vibrant kingfishers, and, if you're lucky, the majestic Bengal Tiger. The safari will take you to the remote Netidhopani Watchtower, offering breathtaking views and a chance to spot tigers swimming in the river, along with remnants of ancient excavations.

In the evening, return to your resort for a unique cultural experience. Enjoy the local Bonobibi Yatra, a rural theater performance by the villagers, showcasing the fascinating folklore of the forest gods and goddesses, Tiger Lord, fishermen, and honey collectors, all told through lively dances and songs. Wrap up the day with an overnight stay at the resort, immersed in the captivating atmosphere of the Sundarbans.

Day 4: Sundarbans - Godkhali (By Ferry) - Kolkata (90 kms/3 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the resort, take a guided walk through a local village, where you'll have the opportunity to interact with the villagers and learn about their daily lives. Later, enjoy a peaceful boat cruise to the DoBanki Watchtower, where you can take a short canopy walk and appreciate the stunning views of the mangrove forests. In the afternoon, board the ferry back to Godkhali. Upon arrival at Godkhali Ferry Ghat, you will be met by our representative and transferred back to your hotel in Kolkata for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Exploring Kolkata

After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, embark on a comprehensive tour of Kolkata, exploring its rich historical and cultural landmarks. Start with a visit to Victoria Memorial, an iconic white marble monument surrounded by lush gardens. Next, head to Howrah Bridge, a bustling symbol of the city’s vibrant life. Visit the Indian Museum, which houses an extensive collection of artifacts, and then pay your respects at Kalighat Temple, an important religious site. Stroll through Marble Palace, a stunning mansion showcasing exquisite architecture and art. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely walk along Park Street, famous for its lively atmosphere and colonial architecture. Return to your hotel in the evening, and if time permits, experience Kolkata's street food and local markets, ending the day with a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 6: Departure from Kolkata

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Kolkata airport to board your flight to your home or onward destination.

Boat safari slots and accommodations in Sundarbans are subject to availability. To ensure your preferred dates and experiences, we recommend booking your tour at least 90 days in advance due to limited access. To book your safari, we require a clear photo of the traveler's passport, as mandated by the forest department.
Once safaris are confirmed, the safari fees are non-refundable.
Please carry your original valid passport or ID proof to present at the entry gate for safaris.
Consider wearing light and breathable fabrics in neutral colors (avoiding bright colors) and layering for temperature changes. Opt for sturdy, comfortable walking shoes, and bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, and light snacks for the journey.
Special Note: Please respect wildlife and their natural habitats during your safari. Maintain a safe distance, avoid loud noises, and follow all guidelines provided by your guides. Your cooperation helps protect these incredible animals and ensures a positive experience for everyone.
