Day 1: Arrive at Colombo Airport - Pinnawala / Kandy (150 kms/3.30 hrs drive)

On your arrival at the Colombo airport, a warm welcome awaits from one of Alkof Holidays local representatives, who will be holding a sign with your name and ready to assist you with your transportation for a smooth start to your Sri Lankan adventure. Your journey begins with a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, situated about 55 miles from Colombo along the picturesque Colombo-Kandy road. Established in 1975, this sanctuary is a haven for abandoned and injured elephants. Witness their care during feeding times (9:30-10:00 AM and 1:30-2:00 PM) and delight in their playful bathing sessions in the nearby river (10:00-10:30 AM and 2:00-2:30 PM). Later continue your drive to Kandy for overnight stay.

Day 2: Exploring Kandy

After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, set out to explore the cultural and natural wonders of Kandy. Begin with a visit to the revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a site of immense spiritual significance housing a sacred relic of Buddha. Next, immerse yourself in the lush beauty of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, home to over 4,000 species of plants, including vibrant orchids and towering palms. A deposit of 10% is required to confirm this tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 30 days prior tour starting date. For any bookings within 30 days of departure, the full tour amount will be charged upon booking. This can be paid through bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash.
