Day 1: Arrival in New Delhi

On arrival at the New Delhi airport, Alkof Holidays representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city's bustling streets or wander its wide tree-lined boulevards to get your first taste of India. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Exploring Old & New Delhi

Today, embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Delhi, a city with a rich history dating back to the 6th century BC. Begin your tour at Rajghat, the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948. Next, visit Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan. Experience the vibrant atmosphere with a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi's busiest market. Drive past the Presidential House and India Gate in Edwin Lutyen's Delhi. Explore Humayun's Tomb, built in 1562 by his wife, Hamida Banu Begum. Conclude your day with a visit to the Qutab Minar, the world's tallest brick minaret, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak. Day 3: New Delhi - Agra (220 kms/4 hrs drive)

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, depart for Agra, the city renowned for the iconic Taj Mahal. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take some time to rest and relax. In the afternoon, visit the exquisite Itmad-ud-Daulah and the majestic Agra Fort. Spend the evening exploring the local markets, where you can shop for unique handicrafts and souvenirs. Day 4: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur (240 kms/5 hrs drive)

Early morning before sunrise our tour guide will pick you from your hotel and take you for a guided tour of the Taj Mahal and Mehtab Bagh. Later return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Jaipur. On the way visit Fatehpur Sikri - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by Akbar in the late 16th century. After sightseeing at Fatehpur Sikri, proceed to Jaipur for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Exploring Jaipur

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, embark on a comprehensive guided tour of Jaipur. Begin your exploration with Rajasthan's iconic attraction, the "Amber Fort and Palace," a UNESCO World Heritage Site constructed by Raja Man Singh in 1592 using red sandstone and marble. This majestic fort complex is perched atop a hill, offering panoramic views of Maota Lake and the surrounding landscapes. Explore its extensive palace sections and intricate architecture, which blend seamlessly with the natural terrain. Following your visit to Amber Fort, continue your Jaipur sightseeing with a visit to Jal Mahal, the serene Water Palace situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake.

Proceed to City Palace, a magnificent blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture that houses museums showcasing royal artifacts. Next, visit Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II, featuring impressive instruments designed for accurate celestial observations. Day 7: New Delhi / Paro (By Flight) - Thimphu (55 kms/1.30 hrs drive)

Today morning, we'll transfer you to New Delhi airport to board a flight by Druk Air to Paro, Bhutan. The flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular in entire Himalayas. Whether flying along the Himalayan range, the journey offers fascinating views and an exciting descent into the Kingdom. On the day of arrival at Paro International Airport, our representative will welcome you at the airport, who will be your tour guide during your entire trip in Bhutan. Later he will transfer you to Thimphu, the capital town of Bhutan. Upon arrival at Thimphu, check-in to the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel, later in the evening enjoy an exploratory walk around Thimphu main street and market area. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: At Thimphu

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, embark on a fascinating sightseeing tour of Thimphu. Begin with a visit to Pangri Zampa Monastery for an intriguing astrology session. Next, explore the National Library, home to an extensive collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts. Continue to the Institute for Zorig Chusum, commonly known as the Painting School, followed by the Textile Museum and Simply Bhutan, a living museum and studio that captures the rich cultural heritage of the Bhutanese people. Afterwards, visit Changangkha Lhakhang, a fortress-like temple and monastic school perched on a ridge above Thimphu. Drive to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), where you can offer prayers to the Buddha, the largest statue in the country, and enjoy panoramic views of the valley. If time permits, visit the King's Memorial Chorten, a revered site continuously circumambulated by locals murmuring mantras and spinning prayer wheels. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Thimphu - Dochula - Punakha (90 kms/2.30 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, set off for Punakha. En route, stop at the Dochula Pass (3,100 meters) for a photo break. This pass, adorned with 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens built by the Queen Mother in 2003, is considered one of the most beautiful in Bhutan. On a clear day, enjoy breathtaking views of Bhutan's highest mountains. Continue your journey to Punakha, and upon arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to relax. In the afternoon, visit the stunning Punakha Dzong, home to the most elaborate temple in the country and a showcase of Bhutanese art and craftsmanship. Afterward, embark on a trek to Chimi Lhakhang, known as the Temple of Fertility, perched on a hillock in the center of the valley. A walk through the nearby village offers rare glimpses into the daily life and lifestyle of the villagers. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Punakha - Paro (130 kms/3.30 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a scenic drive to Paro, passing through the picturesque Dochula Pass. Upon arrival in Paro, check into your hotel and unwind. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, exploring the surroundings or simply relaxing. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11: At Paro

After a delightful breakfast at the hotel, set out to explore the enchanting sights of Paro. Begin with a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest. Perched on a dramatic cliff, this sacred temple is believed to have been blessed by Guru Rinpoche in the 8th century. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew to this site on the back of a tigress to subdue a local demon and meditated here for three months. The hike up takes approximately 2 hours at a steady pace, and though the main building was destroyed by fire in 1998, it was magnificently restored by 2001. The journey rewards you with breathtaking views and a truly memorable experience. In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, originally a watchtower, now home to the National Museum. Explore Rinpung Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang, and Drukgyal Dzong to further immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Paro. Return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay.

Day 12: Paro / Kathmandu (By Flight) - Nagarkot (30 kms/1 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Paro International Airport to board a flight to Kathmandu. Flying into Kathmandu on a clear day is nothing short of breathtaking. As your plane glides over the majestic, snow-capped mountain peaks, the exhilarating panorama sets the stage for an unforgettable adventure. Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a friendly representative from Alkof Holidays will greet you and escort you to Nagarkot, a tranquil hill station renowned for its breath-taking sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas. Check-in at a hotel in Nagarkot for an overnight stay.

Day 13: Nagarkot / Bhaktapur / Boudhanath - Kathmandu (50 kms/2 hrs drive)

Start your day with an awe-inspiring sunrise over the Himalayas in Nagarkot. After a hearty breakfast, we will drive to Bhaktapur, a city rich in medieval art and architecture. Explore the ancient Bhaktapur Durbar Square, marvel at the exquisite temples, and stroll through its quaint streets. Next, head to Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in Nepal, where you can soak in the spiritual ambiance and watch monks in prayer. In the afternoon, we will drive to Kathmandu, where you will check in to your hotel for an overnight stay. Enjoy a relaxing evening in the city, reflecting on the incredible sights and experiences of the day.

Day 14: At Kathmandu

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, set out for an engaging day of exploration, starting with Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Patan Durbar Square.

Swayambhunath Stupa: Begin your day with a visit to Swayambhunath Stupa, perched on a hillock 2 kilometers west of Kathmandu. This ancient Buddhist stupa, estimated to be around 2000 years old, offers breathtaking views over the valley. While the oldest written references date back to the 5th century, local legends suggest it could be much older, possibly forming during the valley’s creation. The stupa is popularly known as the "Monkey Temple" due to the large population of monkeys that roam the site.

Thamel: Next, hop on a rickshaw for a charming 20-minute ride to Thamel, Kathmandu’s bustling tourist district. This lively area is filled with narrow streets lined with a diverse range of shops, budget hotels, and eateries. It’s an excellent spot for souvenir shopping, offering everything from clothing and handicrafts to music CDs and paintings. When hunger strikes, you’ll find a variety of restaurants serving delicious local and international dishes.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: Continue your tour at Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of the city. This historic square is surrounded by a fascinating array of temples, courtyards, and ancient royal palaces. Highlights include the Hanuman Dhoka Royal Palace, the magnificent Taleju Temple towering more than 40 meters; Kumari Ghar (the residence of the Living Goddess), Ashok Vinayak Temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh, and Kal Bhairav, the fearsome deity. Don’t miss the impressive Kasthamandap pagoda, which is said to have been constructed from a single tree and is the namesake of the city.

Patan Durbar Square: Conclude your sightseeing with a visit to Patan, situated 5 km southeast of Kathmandu. Known as the "City of Artisans," Patan Durbar Square is renowned for its exquisite Newari architecture. The square features ornate palaces, artistic courtyards, and elegant pagoda temples, showcasing the peak of Newari craftsmanship from the Malla kings' era. Day 15: Departure from Kathmandu
