Day 1: Arrival in New Delhi

On arrival at the New Delhi airport, Alkof Holidays representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city's bustling streets or wander its wide tree-lined boulevards to get your first taste of India. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Exploring Old & New Delhi

Today, embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Delhi, a city with a rich history dating back to the 6th century BC. Begin your tour at Rajghat, the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948. Next, visit Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan. Experience the vibrant atmosphere with a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi's busiest market. Drive past the Presidential House and India Gate in Edwin Lutyen's Delhi. Explore Humayun's Tomb, built in 1562 by his wife, Hamida Banu Begum. Conclude your day with a visit to the Qutab Minar, the world's tallest brick minaret, commissioned by Qutbuddin Aibak. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Delhi/Jabalpur (By Flight) - Bandhavgarh (170 kms/4 hrs drive)

Early morning, transfer to New Delhi Airport to board a flight to Jabalpur. Upon arrival at Jabalpur Airport, our local person will greet you and transfer to Bandhavgarh National Park. Upon arrival at Bandhavgarh, check-in at your resort. Rest of the day at leisure or enjoy activities such as walking in the nearby area, soaking in the lush greenery, or simply relaxing. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 4: Exploring Bandhavgarh National Park

Enjoy both morning and evening safaris inside Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Be prepared for early safari drives, as vehicles must report to the entrance gate before sunrise. According to safari guides, the early morning hours are ideal for tiger sightings, making the first two hours of the drive particularly crucial. Bandhavgarh National Park is renowned for its diverse wildlife and avifauna, including over 150 bird species. Wildlife highlights include tigers, spotted deer, leopards, sambhar, wild boars, sloth bears and with others. Birdwatchers may spot a variety of species such as the Plum Headed Parakeet, Jungle Babbler, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Little Egret, Cattle Egret, White Throated Kingfisher, Black Drongo, Racket Tailed Drongo, Crested Serpent Eagle, Greater Coucal, Red Necked Vulture, and White Rumped Vulture. Additionally, visit Bandhavgarh Fort, which is located inside the park. This historic fort, situated 811 meters above sea level, has 39 caves and is believed to be around 2,000 years old. Enjoy an overnight stay at the resort.

Day 5: Bandhavgarh - Kanha National Park (215 kms/5 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the resort, set off for Kanha National Park, celebrated as one of Asia’s most well-preserved wildlife sanctuaries and the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling's 'The Jungle Book.' Spanning 940 sq. km, Kanha is home to Indian wild dogs, Royal Bengal Tigers, sloth bears, leopards, and barasingha. Upon arrival, check-in at the resort and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy activities like walking through the lush surroundings, engaging with the park's naturalist, or simply soaking in the serene environment. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 6: Exploring Kanha National Park

Embark on early morning and afternoon jeep safaris to fully experience Kanha National Park. As you traverse the park, marvel at its diverse flora, which includes over 1000 species of flowering plants. Kanha is renowned for its rich wildlife; during your safaris, you may encounter a variety of animals and birds such as the Royal Bengal Tiger, leopard, mouse deer, jackal, fox, sambar, peafowl, Indian gaur (Asiatic Bison), wild dogs (Dhole), wild boars, blue bulls, spotted deer, four-horned antelope and others. Keep an eye out for smaller creatures like mongoose, as well as a range of bird species and reptiles, including python, spurfowl, ring doves, kingfishers, finches, woodpeckers, flycatchers, pintails, pond herons, rock pigeons, papihaas, cuckoos, parakeets, and green pigeons. Don’t miss a visit to Bamni Dadar, also known as Sunset Point, a picturesque spot within the park offering stunning views. Enjoy an overnight stay at the resort.

Day 7: Kanha - Pench National Park (240 kms / 5.30 hrs drive)

After breakfast at the resort, head to Pench National Park, the real-life setting of Rudyard Kipling's 'The Jungle Book.' Spanning approximately 758 sq. km, Pench is renowned for its rich biodiversity and historical mention in Ain-i-Akbari. It was honored with the Best Management Award in 2011. Upon arrival, check in at the resort and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Engage in activities of your choice or simply unwind in the tranquil surroundings. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 8: At Pench National Park

Today, embark on two thrilling jeep safaris within Pench National Park, one in the early morning and another in the afternoon. As you explore, keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, including tigers, panthers, barking deer, sloth bears, porcupines, foxes, jungle cats, and wild dogs. Bird enthusiasts can delight in spotting species like the lesser whistling teal, egret, racket-tailed drongo, chital, spotted deer, pintail, herons, magpie robin, barbet, and red-vented bulbul. After an adventurous day, return to the resort for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Pench - Nagpur (85 kms / 2.30 hrs drive) - New Delhi (By Flight)

After breakfast at the resort, you will be transferred to Nagpur airport for your flight to New Delhi. Upon arrival in New Delhi, you will be transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Departure from New Delhi

In the morning, we will transfer you to IGI Airport, New Delhi for your journey home or onward journey.

Our family had a customized tour that included all three national parks for tiger safaris as well as the traditional golden triangle tour. We had 2 different drivers during the tour that picked us up at the airport or drove us to the next location. The drivers were always early, extremely friendly and helpful, and the cars were immaculate. We stayed at six different hotels that were picked out for us. They were all very nice and I would stay at them again. The guides at each location were very knowledgeable and friendly.
