Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will be greeted by an Alkof Holidays representative who will transfer you to Darjeeling. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Enjoy overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.

Before dawn, venture to Tiger Hill, situated at an elevation of 8,364 feet above sea level, for a mesmerizing sunrise that illuminates the Kanchenjunga Peak (weather permitting). On your return journey, explore the serene Ghoom Monastery and the picturesque Batasia Loop. After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, embark on a comprehensive sightseeing excursion across Darjeeling. Discover cultural treasures such as the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda, and encounter wildlife wonders at the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays). Explore Tenzing & Gombu Rock, dedicated to famous climbers, delve into the history of Tibetan refugees at the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (closed on Sundays), and savor the essence of Darjeeling's tea heritage at a local tea estate. As evening descends, return to the hotel. Enjoy overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Kalimpong. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and take some time to relax. Later, embark on a sightseeing tour of Kalimpong. Begin with a visit to Durpin Hill, where you'll explore the Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Monastery, affiliated with the same Buddhist sect as the Dalai Lama. Continue your tour to Jelapla View Point and Pine View Point for panoramic vistas. Explore other local attractions such as Chitra Bhanu, Kalim Temple, and Dr. Graham's Homes Complex. Don’t miss Delo Hill, the highest point in Kalimpong at 5,556 feet. From here, enjoy sweeping views of Kalimpong, Mt. Kanchenjunga, and the surrounding villages, including the Relli Valley and Teesta River. Enjoy overnight stay at the hotel in Kalimpong.

After breakfast, proceed to Gangtok. Check in at your hotel upon arrival and relax. Later, visit Tashi View Point for a stunning view of the Kanchenjunga peaks on a clear day. After breakfast, set out for a full day of exploration in Gangtok. Begin with a visit to Hanuman Tok, a serene temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, maintained by the Indian Army, followed by Ganesh Tok, another peaceful temple offering great views. Next, explore the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom (closed on Sundays), where you can admire traditional crafts, and the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sundays), renowned for its extensive collection of Tibetan artifacts and manuscripts. Continue to Do Drul Chorten Monastery, a prominent stupa surrounded by 108 prayer wheels. Finish your day at Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park, known for its scenic beauty and tranquil environment. Following breakfast, drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, take a leisurely walk around Thimphu main street and market area. Enjoy overnight stay at the hotel in Thimphu.

After breakfast, set out to discover Thimphu highlights. Begin with a visit to Pangri Zampa Monastery for an astrology session, then head to the National Library to view its extensive collection of Buddhist manuscripts. Explore the Institute for Zorig Chusum, commonly known as the Painting School, the Textile Museum, and Simply Bhutan, a living museum showcasing Bhutanese cultural heritage. Continue your tour with a visit to Changangkha Lhakhang, a fortress-like temple and monastic school perched on a ridge above the city. Next, drive to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) to admire the largest Buddha statue in the country and enjoy panoramic views of the valley. If time permits, visit the King’s Memorial Chorten, where locals can be seen spinning prayer wheels and murmuring mantras. Enjoy overnight stay at the hotel in Thimphu.

After breakfast, depart for Punakha. En route, stop at Dochula Pass (3,100 meters) for a scenic photo opportunity. This pass is renowned for its 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, built by the queen mother in 2003, which add to its significance and beauty. On a clear day, the pass offers stunning views of Bhutan’s highest peaks. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, celebrated for its intricate architecture and elaborate temple interiors. Later, trek to Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility, perched on a hillock in the heart of the valley. A walk through the surrounding village offers insights into local life and culture. Enjoy overnight stay at the hotel in Punakha.

After breakfast, depart for Paro. En route, make a stop in Wangdue Phodrang to visit the Wangdue Dzong and explore the local market. Wangdue Dzong, perched on a hill, provides a picturesque view of the surrounding area and is known for its unique architectural style. Continue your drive to Paro. After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest. Perched on a cliff, this sacred site is believed to have been blessed by Guru Rinpoche in the 8th century, who is said to have flown here on a tigress's back to meditate and subdue a local demon. The hike to the monastery takes about 2 hours at an average pace and offers breathtaking views along the way. Though the original structure was destroyed by fire in 1998, it has been meticulously restored and stands as a testament to Bhutanese craftsmanship and spiritual devotion. In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, which was originally constructed as a watchtower and now serves as the National Museum of Bhutan. Explore Rinpung Dzong, a majestic fortress-monastery, as well as Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, and the historic Drukgyel Dzong, which was built to commemorate victory over Tibetan invasions.   • Bhutanese VISA:  Make sure to apply for your Bhutanese visa well ahead of your trip. A visa is required for all tourists except nationals from India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives. Alkof Holidays will handle the visa processing once your trip is booked.
  • Bhutan's Sustainable Development Fee for foreign nationals from Europe, the USA, and Australia is included in the tour cost at USD 100 per night. For Indian nationals, the fee is INR 1,200 per night. Please contact us to adjust the pricing according to your nationality.
  • Flights to Bhutan:  Due to Bhutan's limited international flights, it's essential to book your flights early to secure your preferred travel dates. Paro International Airport serves as the primary entry point for international tourists. Flights to Paro International Airport are available from major cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Kathmandu, Bangkok, and Singapore.
  • Pack Wisely: Bhutan's weather can change, so bring layered clothing for different temperatures. Pack sturdy shoes for walking, rain gear, and sun protection. Remember to take any necessary medications and a basic first-aid kit.
  • Cultural Respect: Bhutan is strongly connected to Buddhist traditions. Wear modest clothing when visiting religious sites, and learn about local customs to show respect for the culture and traditions.
  • Physical Fitness: If your trip includes hiking to the Tiger's Nest Monastery or other activities, make sure you're in good shape. Begin a moderate exercise routine before your trip to fully enjoy these experiences.
  • Bhutanese Currency: Although your tour package covers most expenses, it's wise to carry some Bhutanese Ngultrum or USD for personal purchases, tips, and souvenirs. Credit cards are accepted in major cities, but cash is essential in rural areas.
  • Connectivity: Expect limited internet access in remote areas. Let your family and friends know about possible communication gaps during your trip.
  • Eco-Friendly Travel: Bhutan places great importance on preserving its natural environment. To support the country's commitment to sustainability, bring a reusable water bottle and steer clear of single-use plastics.
  • Transportation is provided according to the itinerary only and is not available on a disposal or point-to-point basis.

A deposit of 10% is required to confirm this tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 30 days prior tour starting date. For any bookings within 30 days of departure, the full tour amount will be charged upon booking. This can be paid through bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash.
