Flying into Kathmandu on a clear day is a breathtaking experience, with panoramic views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling beneath you, setting the stage for unforgettable memories. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, an Alkof Holidays representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel. Welcome drinks will be served, and rooms will be provided after the check-in process. At the hotel, you will receive a briefing about your daily activities. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, set out for an engaging day of exploration, starting with Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Patan Durbar Square.

Swayambhunath Stupa: Begin your day with a visit to Swayambhunath Stupa, perched on a hillock 2 kilometers west of Kathmandu. This ancient Buddhist stupa, estimated to be around 2000 years old, offers breathtaking views over the valley. While the oldest written references date back to the 5th century, local legends suggest it could be much older, possibly forming during the valley’s creation. The stupa is popularly known as the "Monkey Temple" due to the large population of monkeys that roam the site.

Thamel: Next, hop on a rickshaw for a charming 20-minute ride to Thamel, Kathmandu’s bustling tourist district. This lively area is filled with narrow streets lined with a diverse range of shops, budget hotels, and eateries. It’s an excellent spot for souvenir shopping, offering everything from clothing and handicrafts to music CDs and paintings. When hunger strikes, you’ll find a variety of restaurants serving delicious local and international dishes.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: Continue your tour at Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of the city. This historic square is surrounded by a fascinating array of temples, courtyards, and ancient royal palaces. Highlights include the Hanuman Dhoka Royal Palace, the magnificent Taleju Temple towering more than 40 meters; Kumari Ghar (the residence of the Living Goddess), Ashok Vinayak Temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh, and Kal Bhairav, the fearsome deity. Don’t miss the impressive Kasthamandap pagoda, which is said to have been constructed from a single tree and is the namesake of the city.

Patan Durbar Square: Conclude your sightseeing with a visit to Patan, situated 5 km southeast of Kathmandu. Known as the "City of Artisans," Patan Durbar Square is renowned for its exquisite Newari architecture. The square features ornate palaces, artistic courtyards, and elegant pagoda temples, showcasing the peak of Newari craftsmanship from the Malla kings' era. Admire the intricate wood and stone carvings, metal statues, and numerous Buddhist and Hindu temples spread across the square. Return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, embark on an exhilarating flight to Lukla, a gateway to the Himalayas with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks below. Upon landing at the Lukla airstrip, meet your trekking crew and prepare for the adventure ahead. Begin your trek by walking through Lukla village and continuing along a gently descending trail through rhododendron forests, garden farms, and traditional hamlets.

The trail winds alongside the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and passing through the charming village of Phakding. Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking glimpses of towering snow-capped peaks like Thamserku (6623m) as you meander through pine forests and vibrant local communities. A couple of hours more of trekking along woodland trails bring you to Monjo, a peaceful village surrounded by spectacular mountain views. After reaching your lodge, relax and take in the stunning scenery of Thamserku and Kusum Kangri. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge in Monjo.

After a short walk from the lodge, you'll reach the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While your guide arranges permits, take some time to explore the informative 3D map and captivating displays about the region. From here, follow the trail along the Dudh Koshi River for another 40 minutes before crossing the Bhote Koshi, which surges down from a side valley.

Now begins the steady climb towards the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. The trail zigzags uphill, gradually leading to the tree line, where the landscape opens up to reveal a stunning mountain bowl with the vibrant village of Namche nestled within. As you ascend, you'll pass colorful local shops and market stalls, making your way up hand-carved stone steps to your accommodation at Yeti Mountain Home Lodge. This is your first night at an altitude above 3,000 meters, so it’s important to pace yourself and allow your body to adjust. Unwind with a hot cup of tea or coffee, or perhaps treat yourself to a relaxing massage at the lodge’s spa. Overnight stay at the lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Today is a perfect day to acclimatize and explore the picturesque village of Namche Bazaar. Begin with a gentle walk to gain some altitude, and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the towering Himalayan peaks. Your guide will take you to several amazing viewpoints where you’ll witness the "rockstars" of the mountain world: Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and of course, the mighty Mount Everest standing tall in the distance. These iconic peaks form a magnificent natural amphitheater, making this a moment to remember.

If you're feeling energetic, the trek continues to the nearby villages of Kumjung and Kunde, where you’ll visit a health post and school established by the Sir Edmund Hillary Fund. After lunch, you're free to explore Namche’s lively market, where you can browse local shops, meet friendly locals, and perhaps spot Tibetan traders who cross high passes from the Tibetan plateau with their yaks, laden with goods for the market. Later in the afternoon, you can opt to visit the Namche Monastery, an 80-year-old spiritual site adorned with beautiful Thangka paintings of Tibetan deities. You may even choose to light a butter lamp for your loved ones—a special way to honor them amidst the tranquility of the mountains. Overnight stay at the lodge in Namche Bazaar.

After breakfast, begin your descent back to Lukla, retracing your steps through the scenic landscapes, pine forests, and riverside trails. Take in the final breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Upon arrival in Lukla, celebrate the successful completion of your trek with your team. Overnight stay in Lukla.

After an early breakfast, take a thrilling flight back to Kathmandu, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring Kathmandu’s vibrant streets or simply relaxing after your trek. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

In the morning, we will ensure your timely transfer to Kathmandu International Airport to board a flight to home or onward journey.
